Cut Throat dominoes rules
Cut Throat is the same table with the partnerships removed. Four players, no allies, and nobody to protect an end for you. It plays sharper than Partner because everyone at the table is happy to block anyone else, and a player sitting quietly on two bones will get no help from anywhere.
What changes from Partner
The deal, the pose, the anti-clockwise turn order and the obligation to play a legal bone are all identical. Only the alliances are gone.
Because there is no partner, you cannot pass the initiative to a friendly seat. Every bone you play helps somebody, and the choice is which somebody.
Scoring
The winner of a hand scores. On a blocked game the lowest individual pip count takes it.
Play runs to six, and a player reaching six while the rest of the table is on nothing has whitewashed all three of them.
Game Bruk
When the hand cannot be settled cleanly, the game is broken and reset rather than fudged. Nobody is awarded a hand they did not win.
How it is played well
Counting matters more here than anywhere else. With no partner covering a suit, the only defence is knowing which numbers each opponent has knocked on and keeping at least one of those ends alive.
